Leadership
The leadership of BHEF consists of a chairman and a vice chairman. For 2010-2011, William H. Swanson, chairman and CEO of Raytheon Company, serves as chairman of BHEF. William E. (Brit) Kirwan, II, Chancellor, University System of Maryland, is vice chair.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee serves as the Board of Directors for the Forum, and is responsible for approving all major policies and operating plans of the organization. It includes the chairman, vice chairman, immediate past chairman, and at least four members chosen from the business community and four members chosen from the academic community. Current members of the Forum's Executive Committee are:

BHEF welcomed its members to Washington, DC for its summer meeting on June 24-25, 2010. Members heard from senior representatives of the Obama Administration on challenges and opportunities for education reform in upcoming reauthorization efforts and the challenges confronting long-term U.S. sustainability that demand strengthened STEM education.
