Building America’s Workforce: How Business and Higher Education Can Advance Inclusive Growth Through Partnerships
As the U.S. faces unprecedented shifts in labor dynamics—driven by an aging workforce, domestic labor shortages, the enrollment cliff in higher education, and surging demand for advanced skills in fields like AI, quantum computing, and energy—the need for scalable, place-based solutions has never been more urgent. BHEF’s Spring 2025 Convening brings together leading business executives, higher education leaders, and workforce experts to share strategies that address these challenges and drive inclusive economic growth and innovation, both regionally and nationally.
Through a series of thoughtful peer-to-peer dialogues and solution-focused sessions, BHEF’s members and invited guests will explore:
- How businesses and higher education can proactively respond to global skills shifts and demographic changes in critical industries.
- Scalable models for cultivating high-performing regional coalitions to drive tech-based economic development.
- Strategies for integrating work-based learning to create pathways to high-quality employment, foster social mobility and ensure the development of talent for roles critical for economic growth and competitiveness.
- Approaches to engaging underrepresented populations to expand the talent pipeline and accelerate national competitiveness.
